Without any public notification or discussion, early in 2020 their director commissioned consultants CVDA to use our meadow “efficiently” while doubling the size of the graveyard. The Town Council had approved this commissioning without really thinking about it. Public Works presented the resulting plan to the Council in November 2020. The existing driveway is on the left and the woods are on the right. This proposal is now in limbo, given the results of the Carrboro Connects comprehensive planning process. The details of this plan are irrelevant to us since our neighborhood is under no obligation to host any more graves or cemetery structures past the driveway. Let’s not get drawn into a discussion of rearrranging the deck chairs on the Titanic! We did not ask to be kidnapped and placed on this ship.
